1. What does it mean to be the “head”? To lead in LOVE!

A.      I Corinthians 11:3

B.      Ephesians 5:25

2. What kind of head are you?

A.      Spiritual (through the power of the Holy Spirit)

B.      Fleshly (“I/me”)

3. The five (5) areas of spiritual headship

A.      Spiritual (priest/prophet, king of your home)

1.       Bible is your blueprint

2.       Prayer

3.       Worship

a.       Worshipping together

b.       Separate churches??? [is this spiritual decision or fleshly? As spiritual head, do you know what your family is being taught?]

c.       Discernment in worship [is truth being preached/taught?]

B.      Intellectual

1.       Romans 12:2

C.      Social (activities)

1.       Monitor your activities as well as those of your wife and children

2.       Don’t be controlled by anything

3.       I Corinthians 6:12

D.      Emotional

1.       I Peter 3:7

2.       Wife weaker (delicate)

3.       Be invested in your wife’s emotions

4.       Your job is to serve your wife

5.       Be familiar with her

6.       Spend time with her

7.       Meet her needs (as the Holy Spirit reveals and leads)

a.       Needs that can be met, meet those

b.       Needs that cannot be met, pray! For her in this particular area

1.       I Corinthians 6:19; I Corinthians 7:3-5

2.       God should be in your sex life.

3.       Husbands must remember that for women, sex is

a.       Emotional

b.       Physical

4.       Reasons God made sex:

a.       Procreation

b.       Pleasure

5.       Genesis 2:24-one flesh=sex
